Workout Buddies Are Essential During Weight Lifting
Most of us learn, as some time or another, that life is a whole lot easier when you have someone by your side. This is not only true of love, but also in friendship, business, you name it – having a buddy is a lot better than going it alone. The same is true when it comes to fitness and working out. Finding a good workout buddy can make the difference between consistent motivation and forward momentum and allowing your entire routine to fall by the wayside. You and your workout buddy can and should be there for each other, celebrating when each of you achieves a new goal, and serving as cheerleader on those days when you just don’t want to get out of bed and get to the gym.
Weight lifting is one exercise area where having a buddy is not only helpful, it can be crucial. During cardio you and your workout buddy can run side by side, keeping each other company, and that’s great. But when it comes to lifting weights you and your buddy can switch from a passive to a more active role by spotting each other during your lifting sessions. It is always so much safer to work with a partner when you’re lifting and if you have a built-in workout buddy you never have to worry about trying to find a spotter at the gym. It’s also great to know when you’re trying to bench press more weight than you’ve ever lifted before that the person standing above you is someone you can trust.
