Thigh Toning at the Office


We don’t need to tell you how busy your life is – we’re sure that every waking moment is a constant reminder that there aren’t enough hours to get everything done. This is especially true during the summer months, when social calendars begin to heat up and kids are out of school. It can be difficult to fit in toning exercises during the summer months, yet this is precisely the time of year when you want to look your best. Here are some thigh toning exercises that can be performed right at your desk and save you a trip to the gym after work. (As if you actually had the time to go!)

Sneaky Thigh Toners

The following exercises can be performed at the office. Some of them can be performed without anyone even knowing that you’re toning up!

Leg Extensions: While seated, bring one leg up in front of you. Contract the quad muscle in the lifted leg and hold this position for 30 seconds or more. Lower your leg and repeat on the other side. Aim for five reps with each leg.

Inner Thigh Contractions: To do this exercise, remain seated in your office chair and pretend as though you have an object between your legs. Now squeeze your legs together around this imaginary object. You should feel a contraction in the inner line of your thighs. Hold in this position for five seconds at a time and then release. Repeat until your thighs are tired.

Hip Flexions: Stay seated in your chair with your legs bent at 90 degrees. Keeping your legs bent, lift one leg up, bringing your knee towards your face. Lift until you feel a contraction in your hip flexor. Hold this position for ten seconds, then slowly lower your leg and repeat on the other side.
