Sculpt Your Arms with These Moves
Everyone wants strong, solid arms that look good and can lift a good deal of weight. Strong arms can improve your overall appearance and can help you to avoid injuries in daily life by limiting the strain that is put on your joints and tendons. Strong arms don’t come easy, though. You have to continually work your arms with specific moves to keep them looking fit and feeling strong.
Pretty much everyone has done push-ups at one time or another, either in school or on their own. Push-ups are great for sculpting your chest, arms, and shoulders to give you an all-around toned look and to help you to be able to raise your own body weight off the ground easily. For best results, keep your abs and glutes flexed while doing push-ups to retain proper form.
Lying Triceps Extension with Dumbbells
This exercise helps to engage your triceps, which are often missed when working out. Hitting your triceps will help to make other arm exercises easier and will help you get rid of the below-the-arm jiggle. To perform this exercise, lie face up on a workout bench with your knees bent and touching the ground and your back flat. Grab two medium weight dumbbells and lift them straight up over your shoulders. With a controlled motion, lower the dumbbells by bending your elbows and bringing the dumbbells to each side of your head. Repeat until exhaustion.
Standing Dumbbell Bicep Curls
This classic move is wonderful for sculpting your biceps. When doing dumbbell curls, the weights should not be held in a death grip, for best results. To do standing dumbbell curls, stand with feet hip width apart and a dumbbell in each hand. Bend the elbows and raise the dumbbells just below shoulder height, acting as though a nut is being crushed at the apex of the elbow. Lower the dumbbells with a controlled motion and repeat.
