The key with diet is protein. You want to have protein throughout the day without overdoing it. In the morning, be sure to eat right away. When you’re sleeping, your body is in a catabolic state.

You want to get your body into an anabolic state as quickly as possible. A protein-filled breakfast will do the trick. Try to avoid coffee if possible because it will drain your energy later in the day.

Try to eat five to seven small meals throughout the day, opposed to three large meals. This will keep your body in the best shape possible.

That said it’s imperative that you fill your body with protein within 15 to 30 minutes after your workout.

This will assist your muscles in recovery. If you don’t eat after your workout, then you will have potentially wasted that workout, or at least watered down its effectiveness.

If you have trouble putting weight on, then you’re a hard-gainer. This means you burn muscle with ease during your cardio workouts, and that it’s extremely difficult to pack on muscle.

It’s all in your metabolism. The solution here is to purchase protein shakes. You should drink a shake after your workout, followed by a meal one hour later.
